The Dog House Episode 4

Thursday 26 September 2019

The Dog House is a new series set inside Wood Green, The Animals Charity, where staff are committed to matching their homeless dogs with hopeful dog owners.

In episode four, an excitable French Bulldog, Buddy, arrives at Wood Green. After unsuccessfully finding a home seven times, Buddy was matched with brothers Uriah and Josh, who proved to be the perfect match. 8-year old Georgia visited our centre with her grandparents, in the hope of finding their next family pet. While Georgia dreamed of a small dog to be her new best friend, she was utlimately won over by Leah, an affectionate stray Labrador. Finally, couple Yvette and Jerry visited Wood Green with Mr Blue, their grieving spaniel who is in need of a new companion after the loss of his last one. Kimmie was a nervous collie who was in need of a loving home to boost her confidence. While the match wasn't meant to be, Kimmie has since found her forever home, and Mr Blue now has a new friend!

The amazing stories that feature in The Dog House are just a snapshot of the work that we do here at Wood Green. But you’re in the right place to learn more – and discover what goes on behind the scenes. Read on for some behind-the-scenes content from episode 2.

Kimmie's story

Did you catch Kimmie in The Dog House? This cute collie was extremely anxious when she arrived at Wood Green. Watch our behind-the-scenes chat with Eli, who explains how we helped boost her confidence.

Meet Buddy

This lively French Bulldog was a bit of a handful for his last owners. It was another setback for Buddy, who had never quite found his forever home – until now.

When he was matched with new owner Uriah on The Dog House, everything changed. Together, they both found happiness. “My life has massively improved. I have a better routine and go out walking with him 2-3 times a day. He’s the funniest dog I’ve ever met!,” Uriah tells us.
