We are sending a huge thank you to the colleagues at Lloyds Banking Group, who have kindly raised money for several charities over the past 5 years – Wood Green, The Animals Charity being the latest to kindly benefit from their fundraising.

The team told us:

"Before Christmas 2013, we had also experienced the tragic loss of our colleague and friend Louise Morris. She was a bright, happy person whose upbeat demeanour was both appreciated and depended on by those around her. Louise’s unexpected and tragic passing was undoubtedly a shock to all who knew and cared for her.

In February last year, we suddenly lost our beloved friend and colleague Richard Pease. Richard had been with the Group for 34 years, and passed away at his home whilst working. He is best described as a ‘top bloke’, someone who you could always rely on for some light-hearted banter about his beloved Ipswich Town, or the latest goings on in the office. Richard’s passing touched hundreds of us across the business, especially in the Operations Change areas where he’d spent many of his recent years, and he’d been heavily involved in setting up the first memory walk, for Louise.

Both Richard and Louise worked with us in Group Change Management."

Richard and Louise’s colleagues have already undertaken two walks in Louise’s memory, but in 2018, they returned for their third memory walk – in honour of both Richard and Louise, this time walking 91 miles between Godmanchester and Portman Road, Ipswich, from Richard’s home address to that of his football team. Richard was known to be an avid walker who was never happier than when he was spending time walking with his dog.

Lloyds Banking Group kindly used their third memory walk to raise vital funds for Wood Green, The Animals Charity. They raised a total of £1,780.35 during 2018 for us, and we are so grateful for all of their help! We are sending a huge thank you to everyone involved.
