Chickens are fast becoming popular family pets to keep in the back garden. They're fascinating animals to watch and easily become very tame, making them great pets for all ages. However, there are lots of things to take into consideration when caring for chickens, including their accommodation, diet, health and surroundings.  

With all of these factors in mind, we understand it might not be easy taking care of your chickens and you might be looking for a solution to your problems.  

Life is unpredictable and we understand you might be faced with daily struggles. And this might be hard for you to look after your chickens. Whether you're moving away and can't take your chickens, or dealing with work or financial pressures, if you're finding it difficult to cope, that's okay – we're here for you.

Workshops and classes  

We provide a number of vital services for pet owners including free, expert pet advice on the phone and online. Plus, a range of workshops and classes on a variety of topics, including chickens! If you're looking for a little refresher on how to look after your chickens, or you have children and want them to know how to look after chickens, our free chicken e-learning family workshop is a very useful resource and it's fun for the whole family. 

Need to find your chickens a loving new home? To ensure every pet gets the best possible care whilst waiting for a home, we can provide care in:

  • Our world-class rehoming centre in Godmanchester, Cambridgeshire. Our dedicated, experienced staff will give your former pet everything they need while we search for a new owner

  • A foster home. Some pets cope better in a different environment, so we've assembled an amazing team of volunteers who offer pets extra comfort and attention in their homes

  • Your home, where we can provide support to you and your pet whilst our rehoming experts find them a new home.
