To help us help you make the right decision for you and your pet,
we’ll first ask you to tell us about them,
then contact you as we may need to discuss various options available.

Next, if together we decide that this is the best option,
we will make an appointment for you to bring your pet to us in Godmanchester,
or we may be able to collect if you live in Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire or North London.

Find out more about each step below.

Read how the process works

  • Step 1 – Complete a form or call us

Complete our form, and we’ll aim to reply within 24-48 hours. The form will take approximately 15-20 minutes to complete.

Or you can call us on 0300 303 9333 between 8am and 4pm and then follow the options – we're available seven days a week. Due to how busy our phone lines can get, you may need to leave one voicemail and someone will call you back.

If you require urgent help, please give us a call and leave a message if the line is busy. We prioritise emergency situations.

  • Step 2 – Initial discussion

A member of our Pet Support team may need to contact you about your pet/pets to gather some further information.

We can also discuss options which may include relinquishing your pet into our care, keeping your pet at home until we find a new home or utilising our support services to keep your pet in your home. We can support with free behavioural advice, financial aid for neutering and some other vet care and food support.

  • Step 3 – Suitability for Owner Home Care / Waiting list

Most of our small pets will stay with their owners until a new home has been found for them, this is called our Owner Home Care Scheme. If you tell us you would consider this scheme, through the form or over the phone, and if your pet is suitable, our Owner Home Care team will be touch to discuss and begin the process with you.

If our Owner Home Care Scheme is not suitable our pet support team will stay in contact regarding your pet being on our waiting list and when space is available we will contact you to make the arrangements for your pet to come into us.

As part of the process, you will need to send us clear photographs of your pet, along with any veterinary records your pet has.

  • Step 4 – Your small pet is in our care

If you'd like an update on your pet whilst in our care, we’d be more than happy to share any news with you. Get in touch by email and we'll respond as soon as we can.

We do prioritise emergency situations.

So, if you need urgent help, please give us a call on 0300 303 9333 and then follow the options.

We’re available 8am to 4pm, seven days a week, but please leave a message if the line is busy.
