Ari needs new owners who are prepared to invest the time in creating a strong bond with her and are comfortable that they will need to manage her around visitors to the home and traffic.
Support and Health
How much training will I need?
Can I be left alone?
Do I have any medical conditions?
Who I can live with
Can I live with dogs?
Can I live with cats?
Can I live with small pets?
Ari is generally good around other dogs and prefers to say a polite hello before moving on. She's not the biggest fan of larger, bouncy dogs, preferring smaller dogs. She isn't looking to share her home with other dogs, but walking buddies would be absolutely fine.
Ari would not suit living with cats but could potentially share her home with securely housed small pets.
Family and environment
What kind of family am I looking for?Ari is looking for a family who are happy to be the centre of her world and be advocates for her to ensure that she is given the time and space she needs to feel comfortable around unfamiliar people. Once she knows you, she's affectionate and will lean in to you for a fuss, often falling asleep. Due to her sensitive nature, she would prefer a quiet home with minimal visitors. Ari can be very uncomfortable around children and does not want to interact with them so is looking for an adult-only home.
What type of environment would suit me?Ari would not suit living on a busy road and will need to be walked in quiet areas, away from traffic as she has shown she will chase moving vehicles in her previous home, although we haven't seen this behaviour during her time in our care at Woodgreen. She needs to have access to a private, 6ft fenced garden where she can play with her toys in an environment where she feels relaxed.
About AriAri is a gorgeous German Shepherd cross whose favourite things in life are football, playing in water and her favourite people. She needs a patient, understanding new family who will take time to understand her body language and communication, so as not to put her in situations where she feels uncomfortable. Ari is a very affectionate lady once you have earnt her trust, she loves to be on the sofa and be close to her family, sleeping in the bedroom at night. Ari is a lovely, gentle girl, who will make a fun, but polite addition to the right home. She isn't looking for much, just people who are willing to take their time with her and respect that she prefers a quiet life.
Things to notePotential new owners will need to be prepared to visit Ari several times in quick succession prior to being able to take her home; this is to help build a bond before she goes home.
