Meet Dobby and Evie

  • Friendly
  • Inquisitive (Evie)
  • Gentle (Dobby)

Meet Evie and Dobby! They are deeply bonded and looking for their furever home!

Evie is the more inquisitive of the two and since settling in with us, she has shown a more curious side. Whilst cleaning she will tend to keep herself out of the way. However, when socialising, Evie will hop onto your lap, giving your clothes a thorough inspection with her nose… most likely looking for treats!

Dobby is a typical gentlebun who will approach you for snacks and fuss but is most settled when with Evie.

This delightful duo are looking a home filled with love and owners who can be patient and help build their confidence in their new setting.

Evie and Dobby can take some time to settle into a environment. However, they will show more of an interest in people once you have gained their trust. They are quite independent and happier in each others company rather than humans.

Accommodation requirements

Rabbits are most active at dawn and dusk, and in the wild they have plenty of space to move freely at any hour. Pet rabbits need room to hop at speed, stretch to their full height and length, and dig, forage and graze whenever they like.

A pair of small to medium-sized rabbits need 24-hour access to a floor space of at least 3m x 2m, with a height of at least 1m. This is roughly the size of two king-size mattresses placed together, and about as tall as a door handle.

The image below gives you an idea of how much space a pair of rabbits need.

Large outdoor rabbit hutch with green wire mesh, covered in hay. Inside are boxes, bowls, a tunnel, water bottles, and various blankets and towels. Trees and a wooden fence are visible in the background.

Aviary with hutch inside, dig tray, platforms, hiding spaces, a tunnel and lots of hay.

Are rabbits the right pet for me?

Rabbits are wonderful companions, but they’re often misunderstood as low-maintenance pets. The truth is, they’re not!

Here are a few things to think about before you apply:

  • Rabbits live for around 8-12 years, so adopting them is a long-term commitment.
  • They need significant space – a minimum of 3m x 2m with a height of 1m, 24 hours a day.
  • They need to live with at least one other rabbit.
  • A pair costs around £80 a month to care for.
  • They need regular vaccinations and are prone to certain health conditions that can be costly to treat.

Not sure if rabbits are the right pet for you? Our guide to choosing the right small pet species is a great place to start.

How much does it cost to adopt rabbits from Woodgreen?

Our adoption fees are:

  • Single rabbit (to be mixed with your existing rabbit/s) — £45
  • Pair of rabbits — £67
  • Trio of rabbits — £89

If you use our onsite mixing service, we ask for a donation of your choice on top of the adoption fee, if the mix is successful.

How long does the adoption process take?

Once you’ve submitted your application, we aim to get back to you within two working days. This may be a little longer during busy periods.

From there, timelines can vary depending on your setup approval. If you’re using our onsite mixing service, the number of bonding sessions to find the right match will also be a factor.

It’s worth starting your application as soon as you’re ready to begin the process.
