Pet advice from Woodgreen
From behavioural issues to dietary needs and everything in between, we’ve got yo...
As with all small pets, I will need to be housed securely away from any other pets in the home.
Dwarf hamsters are known for being fast and active, so are more suited to a family who are happy to watch them, over trying to handle them.
Dwarf hamsters require plenty of floor space as they prefer to travel low to the ground rather than climb. The ideal size is a 100cm wide by 50cm deep by 40cm high cage with 7mm bar spacing.

Egg is an adorably little dude who is on a mission to make as many tunnels and burrows as possible. He loves having lots of deep substrate to enable burrowing and lots of enrichment to explore. He is very active at night and will often spend time in his wheel, coco soil and beech chip substrate dish. His favourite place to sleep is a multi-chamber hide with lots of soft tissue bedding to feel nice and snug. He can be a little cautions when handling and has been known to test nip fingers and clothing, so he is looking for an owner happy to help build confidence around being handled. If you can offer this fab little boy his forever home, please do get in touch via the website.
I'm auditioning a new family, but pets like me arrive with Woodgreen all the time. Start your registration today to be considered for other pets ready for adoption.
