Pet advice from Woodgreen
From behavioural issues to dietary needs and everything in between, we’ve got yo...
As with all small pets, we will need to be housed securely away from any other pets in the home.
Rabbits do enjoy the companionship of humans and can become very affectionate and enjoy taking tasty fresh forage from your hands. Rabbits do not enjoy being handled and they can find loud noises and sudden movement scary, so they are often suited to families with slightly older children.
Rabbits need lots of space to keep them fit, healthy and happy, the ideal outdoor accommodation for a pair should consist of either a shed/wendy house or a 1.8m (6ft) single level hutch, attached to a 3m long by 2m wide by 1m high run. It’s important they are able to hop, stretch up and jump on to things to express their natural behaviours.

Punky is rabbit full of character looking for her forever home with another bunny to share it with. She is a independent girl who knows what she wants. When she first come to us she would often take herself away to hide in her favourite place, where as now she has started to become more inquisitive and will happily take some food from your hand. Punky can be a messy bunny at times as she loves to shred newspaper and dig in her dig tray. Due to Punky loving her dig tray so much, she is looking for a secure outdoor accommodation with lots of enrichment to keep her busy. She is continuing to grow in confidence while waiting for her new companion. If you have a single male rabbit looking for a companion and are interested in rehoming Punky, please do get in touch via the website.
