Stray pup Finnegan came to Woodgreen in a terrible state with mange and eyes almost sealed shut from infection. He’d had a tough time, but his tiny tail never stopped wagging.
Edmund arrived at Woodgreen with fellow feline Peter, when their owner sadly passed away. As he started to come out of his shell, we noticed he was walking strangely and discovered he had a bone disorder.
10-week-old Belgian hares Red and Fallow arrived at Woodgreen as part of an accidental litter. Due to their larger-than-average size, their owner sadly had no room for them.

No, you’ll help lots of homeless pets, one after the other. As soon as we find one pet a loving new home, we will introduce you to the next pet you’ll be sponsoring.
For sponsorship for yourself you can sign up to sponsor between one and three species, including dog, cat, and small pet sponsorship (mice, rabbits, guinea pigs etc.). Simply add more sponsorships to your basket.
For a gift sponsorship, you can sign one person up to one pet species online. However, if you’d like to gift someone more than one sponsorship type, or give a gift of sponsorship to several friends or family, please contact our Supporter Relations Team on 0300 303 9876 (Option 3). We’re available weekdays from 9am – 5pm. Or email us anytime.
Unfortunately, we cannot arrange delivery of the welcome pack on a specific day. However, you can opt to send an e-card to your gift recipient straight away! With a special message.
Sorry, but we can only sign up those aged 18 and over for a gift sponsorship. As an organisation we have a policy that we do not send communications to children under 18 years old. If you would like to set up the sponsorship in your own name this is possible and the communications can be passed onto the child.
You can call our Supporter Relations Team on 0300 303 9876 (Option 3) to set this up. We’re available weekdays from 9am – 5pm. Or email us anytime.
Your sponsorship money helps support every pet who comes to us for a second chance at life, right up until the day we find them a new, loving home. Everything from nutritious food and toys, that help to build trust to essential vaccinations and, if required, life-saving surgery.
No. Each pet is supported by lots of sponsors. We simply couldn’t provide all the food, warmth and expert care that our pets need, without the help of a number of generous sponsors.
No. Because of the vulnerable nature of the pets in our care, we can only allow our trained pet care experts to have access to our pets. However, you will receive regular updates on the health and wellbeing of the pet you sponsor.
It depends on whether your circumstances and needs matches that of the pet you’re sponsoring, and if they’re available for rehoming. Many of the pets in our care that receive sponsorship have special medical requirements, and behavioural issues.
Alternatively to adopting a pet, you could also consider becoming a fostering volunteer.
Yes! We’ll keep you in the loop with news about your sponsor pet, when they have been rehomed and give you updates about how they are getting on in their new home!
This is one of the best things about being a sponsor, knowing a pet you’ve helped to support has found a new loving home.
Sponsorship is a wonderful way to make a difference to homeless and vulnerable pets in need.
