We move fast when a pet is in crisis

Abandoned in a bin bag and thrown away like rubbish, Biffa was saved just in time

While our team on-site prepared for Biffa’s arrival, we had no idea the surprise that she had in store for us. An urgent medical check when she arrived revealed that she was pregnant, and due at any moment.

The shocking discoveries continued when we removed a shotgun pellet from behind one of her ears. It became clear that Biffa and her unborn kittens could have died if they hadn’t been brought to Woodgreen.

Pets like Biffa arrive at Woodgreen every day – in need of urgent medical support and a safe place to stay. We placed Biffa into a maternity foster home as soon as possible, and just days later, she gave birth.

From rags to rehoming

The kittens grew up in the peaceful environment of a loving foster home, with dedicated round-the-clock care. Before long, Biffa and her kittens were ready to be rehomed.

Biffa’s story has a happy ending thanks to your support, but she is just one of the emergency cases that we help at Woodgreen every day.

Will you help us be ready for the next emergency case that comes our way?
