Found anxious and desperately thin

Three-year-old lurcher Faith came into our care underweight, cold, and shivering. She was found with tape around her paws and her fur shaved – possibly due to a DIY medical attempt after a hare coursing injury.

Once Faith was safely in our care, we dressed her injuries and put her on a high-protein diet. She was so underweight, that she needed four coats to keep her warm. Her anxiety meant she wasn’t eating well, so she was losing even more weight.

On the path to recovery

Gradually, Faith settled in and learned to trust those around her. Her appetite returned and she started to gain weight. Our vet Laura was able to vaccinate and spay her.

Meanwhile, our dog handler Georgia started to build a bond with Faith, gradually teaching her to gain confidence. Georgia also trained Faith on and off her lead, so that she could safely be walked when rehomed. Georgia soon became one of Faith’s favourite humans and couldn’t get enough hugs and snuggles!

Finding Faith a loving home of her own

During her time with us, Faith received all the loving care, shelter, food, and training she needed to prepare for a new life. This is when another very special person, Linda, came into her life. It was love at first sight, and Faith found the happiness and safety she deserved.

With your help, we can be there for the next pet who comes through our doors, and transform their life, too.
