Woodgreen’s passionate team of community outreach officers are dedicated to helping pet owners who are struggling to meet their pets’ needs. Whatever the reason for someone getting in touch for our help, we’re here to offer support at every step of the pet ownership journey.
Our approach
As pet owners ourselves, we know that pet ownership can be hard. It’s not unusual to face challenges you hadn’t expected, or difficulties that are out of your control.
We take a supportive, non-judgemental, ‘caseworker’ approach to each individual pet owner. This means understanding their situation and environment before deciding on how we can support them in the best way.
How we help
Our passionate team are always out and about in the community giving pet health and wellbeing checks in pet owners’ homes, as well as advice on all aspects of pet care. For pet owners struggling with the costs of caring for their pet, we also donate pet food packages and offer financial support with one-off veterinary costs, where appropriate.
We aim to make the most of every conversation with a pet owner. Our team are trained in conversational and motivational skills which they use to encourage and inspire changes in people’s behaviour. This means they’re better prepared and more confident to tackle challenges with their pets in the future.
