Pet advice from Woodgreen
From behavioural issues to dietary needs and everything in between, we’ve got yo...
When Mabel’s owner had to move house, they sadly couldn’t take their feline friend with them. After calling Woodgreen for help, Mabel was collected and brought into our care the next day.
For her owner and many others in their situation, this option can make the whole process of giving up a pet as easy and painless as possible. With the introduction of our Pet Collection service last year, we can now offer this form of support much more widely for owners in need.
On arrival at our centre, Mabel was given a health check and settled in to her new surroundings, while our Rehoming Team got onto the task of getting to know her better. This included a thorough assessment, which gave them a clear picture of her needs. Like many of our precious pets, Mabel needed a specific type of home to ensure lasting happiness. As a shy and nervous kitten, she didn’t suit an environment with young children. An owner who could give her lots of fuss was also a must! We soon found someone who was able to offer Mabel a life that ticked all her boxes – giving her the second chance at happiness she deserved. Today, we hear from her adoring owner that she’s loving her new home:
“She has settled in really well. She loves her toys but also loves a cuddle and to sleep on you, she is very sweet and gentle but also lots of fun. I think we have all fallen in love with her already.”
