There can be other pets in the home, but the rat enclosure will need to be in a room that can be shut off from any cats or dogs.
Rats make excellent pets for all the family; they are inquisitive and affectionate and love to come out and play.
Rats need to be housed in a large cage filled with suitable enrichment to keep them interested and active. The ideal size cage for 3-4 rats is: 80cm deep by 50cm wide by 80cm high.

Edgar and Tobias are a sweet pair who love to spend their time together. Edgar is the more confident of the pair and will often come over out of curiosity to see what’s going on. Tobias will sometimes hide away but curiosity often gets the better of him. They are looking for a home where they can continue to build their socialisation and confidence with people.
