Pet advice from Woodgreen
From behavioural issues to dietary needs and everything in between, we’ve got yo...
Elsa has current medical concerns, namely a heart murmur, that will require consideration before this pet is rehomed. Our rehoming team will be able to give you further information if you apply to rehome this pet and you are a successful match. We would also advise that any medical concern, be that historic or ongoing, is discussed with your own vet prior to any book out appointment.
Due to her timid nature we feel it is best that Elsa would be best suited as being the only pet in the home. She tends to give other animals the cold shoulder.
Elsa would benefit from a calm home with Adults and maybe grown up children who can respect Elsa’s timid nature. A family or couple who are willing to build a bond with Elsa over time and gain her trust. Potentially children could be slightly younger than 13 but must be very calm, quiet and won’t invade her space as she’s easily spooked by noises/movements. She appreciates a quiet household. Once feeling comfortable she adores fuss and company.
Elsa would be ok to live in a residential area with low volumes of traffic as she has not been outdoors for some time. She is said to not be streetwise so access to a garden to the rear of a property would be ideal.
Meet our very own Snow Queen with her own stunning coat, Elsa. She has come to Woodgreen as her owner could no longer care for her. Elsa had been a very timid cat in her previous home and would shy away from strangers. With time and a soft touch she did learn to trust her owner and formed a very strong bond. She is a sweet little lady who is deserving of a loving home and a family who can take time to built her confidence and trust. Once feeling comfortable she is a super loving lady who enjoys fuss and wants your company. She will also play, namely chasing balls around once settled in. Elsa will truly melt your heart. So, do you want to build a snowman with Elsa? Come along and help her play. She needs to find an open door, with treats galore and Dreamies every day!
Elsa will need a variety of areas to hide in, especially during the settling in phase. She should be allowed to initiate interactions herself and not be pushed for contact.
Elsa has been placed in a foster home due to her nervous disposition and will be allocated a temporary unit at the centre on the day of book-out. Unfamiliar environments can be particularly stressful for nervous cats, therefore in order to safeguard its welfare and to promote positive interactions between you and your pet, it will not be possible to meet this cat prior to rehoming. Videos and photographs will be available to give you the opportunity to view the cat’s behaviour in a familiar setting and help you make a decision.’
I'm auditioning a new family, but there are plenty of other cats in need of a good home. Why not take a look?
