This pet has a historic medical concerns, namely a wound to his neck which has healed and he also missing his canines after a dental surgery, that will require consideration before this pet is rehomed. Our rehoming team will be able to give you further information if you apply to rehome this pet and you are a successful match. We would also advise that any medical concern, be that historic or ongoing, is discussed with your own vet prior to any book out appointment.
Due to the wound he arrived with, we feel Madrono would be best being the only cat of the house.
We don’t know if he’s had any history with a dog, but at this stage if there are dogs in the home they will need to be very calm and introductions must be slow and and at Madrono’s pace. A lively, bouncy dog will not be suitable for him.
He could live with smaller animals as long as they are securely-housed.
Madrono will need a quiet, adult only home. New owners will need to allow him to settle at his own pace.
Madrono will need access to the outdoors in his new home. Preferably in a quiet area with low traffic. Once settled and regularly going outside he may benefit from a cat flap to give him access 24/7.
When Madrono arrived at Woodgreen as a stray, he was carrying not only a wound on his neck but also a deep mistrust of people. It has taken time, patience and lots of gentle care for him to realise that some humans can be pretty wonderful after all.
Madrono is now expanding his trusted circle and has shown what an affectionate, snuggly companion he can be. Once he trusts you, he adores a lap to flop onto and loves rolling around in pure contentment, soaking up every moment of love.
Madrono is not a “love you from day 1” kind of cat. He needs time, quiet and slow introductions to new surroundings. Once you’re part of his inner circle though, you’ll be rewarded with the pure joy of earning the love of a truly special soul.
