Pet advice from Woodgreen
From behavioural issues to dietary needs and everything in between, we’ve got yo...
Schmidt has historic medical concerns, namely abscess and vomiting, that will require consideration before this pet is rehomed. Our rehoming team will be able to give you further information if you apply to rehome this pet and you are a successful match. We would also advise that any medical concern, be that historic or ongoing, is discussed with your own vet prior to any book out appointment.
It is recommended that he doesn’t go to a home with other cats as he has been known to get in fights with others before. Whilst this has settled down with his older age it is still advised that he is the only cat in the home to ensure he is happy and comfortable. We would also recommend that he doesn’t go to a house with dogs. He could live with small pets as long as securely housed.
Schmidt would suit best to a house with adults only as he has on occasions bitten/scratched when overstimulated. Interactions will need to be on his terms and only when initiated by him.
Schmidt will need outdoor access when settled in his new home as he enjoys spending many hours a day outside. He is used to moderate levels of traffic and copes well with that.
Schmidt came to us through no fault of his own. He is a friendly and confident boy, but is finding the shelter environment quite stressful. In his previous home he used to enjoy having time on his own to explore the outdoors or chill in one of his favourite spots. He enjoyed fuss and sitting on laps, but on his terms. Schmidt will be a great companion for a family who will appreciate his independence and will give him affection when he wishes.
