Support and Health

How much training will I need?

Needs some support

Can I be left alone?

Potentially, once settled

As an ex-racing greyhound, he has always lived in kennels never in a home. While he may potentially settle when left alone, this will need to be built up gradually once he has had time to adjust to a home environment.

Do I have any medical conditions?

Existing conditions

Obi has a reoccurring medical condition, namely Elbow calluses and a current medical condition, namely dental issues (currently recovering from treatment), this will require consideration before this pet is rehomed.

Our rehoming team will be able to give you further information if you apply to rehome him/her and you are a successful match.

We would also advise that any medical conditions, be that historic or ongoing, are discussed with your own vet prior to taking them home.

Can I live with cats?

Can I live with small pets?

Additional information

Obi would like to be the only dog in his new home.

He is polite and respectful around other dogs and could have calm walking buddies when out and about.

Family and environment

What kind of family am I looking for?

He could live with children aged 8+ who are tolerant and respectful of his space.

Obi is a sweet boy, in his previous kennels he would occasionally be walked by older children.

What type of environment would suit me?

A private, secure garden is essential for Obi’s new home. It provides a safe space for toilet training, off-lead play, and all-important zoomies. For greyhounds who can’t be let off lead in public, a garden is especially valuable for burning off energy and enjoying some freedom in a secure environment.

About Obi

Obi is a retired racing greyhound with a heart as big as his appetite! This handsome boy is on the lookout for his forever home where he can enjoy the simple pleasures of life- good company, gentle walks, and of course, plenty of snacks.

Obi is incredibly friendly, polite, and sociable. He adores being around people and gets along well with other dogs. He walks beautifully on the lead, staying right by your side, and enjoys a good zoom around the garden.

With his delightfully floppy ears (which seem to have a mind of their own!) and his ever-hopeful “snack face,” Obi is guaranteed to steal your heart. He’s a food lover through and through- if you’re holding something edible, he’ll be first to notice!

If you’re looking for a sweet, affectionate companion who’s equal parts quirky and cuddly, Obi could be the perfect match.
