Could you star in The Dog House?

Pilchard came into us as a stray so we don’t know if he’s been left home alone before. He should be able to do a few hours once he’s settled in and had his training worked on.
Pilchard has a current medical condition, namely a Patella Luxation, which doesn’t currently require surgery and will require consideration before this pet is rehomed.
Our rehoming team will be able to give you further information if you apply to rehome him and you are a successful match.
We would also advise that any medical conditions, be that historic or ongoing, are discussed with your own vet prior to taking them home.
Pilchard must live with calm dog or a tolerant sighthound, with a low prey drive, who will interact with him.
Pilchard is friendly and social with other dogs but adores being around his long legged Lurcher friends!
He will spend time with other dogs then go off and do his own thing, with Lurchers he gets very excited and playful, often weaving between their legs.
Pilchard is looking for an adult only home.
He is a worried boy and will bark at people on walks if he feels they’re too close.
It will take him some time to build a relationship with you but once he does, he’s the most loveable little man.
Pilchard is looking for a home who understand his worries and will help him gain confidence in his own time.
Pilchard will need a secure, private garden in his new home so he’s got a safe space to be outdoors and to help with his toilet training.
He will need to be walked in quiet area’s where there aren’t too many people so that he can enjoy his walks and continue his training.
Pilchard isn’t the type of dog who would cope in busy area’s or going to places like the café.
Pilchard is a pint-sized explorer who lives for his walks.
Nothing makes him happier than trotting along beside you, nose to the ground, taking in all the wonderful smells the world has to offer. He’s also a total social butterfly with other dogs – he adores canine company and will happily make new four-legged friends wherever he goes, though he’ll certainly voice his disappointment if they wander off too soon!
However, Pilchard is also a sensitive lad who’s still learning how to navigate the big, sometimes overwhelming world. He’s looking for a quiet, training-minded home with someone who understands that progress takes patience, consistency, and dedication. Pilchard will thrive with someone who sees not just the cute Terrier face, but the incredible potential in the dog behind it who needs some training.
He struggles being around strangers so will need some help and guidance in this area. With patience and guidance, he’ll reward you with unwavering companionship and countless joyful moments.
I'm auditioning a new family, but there are plenty of other dogs in need of a good home. Why not take a look?
