Support and Health

How much training will I need?

Needs ongoing support

Can I be left alone?

No

Rufus & Fenton have previously been left alone for long periods of time. During this time, they would both become extemley distressed.

It is important for any home alone to be kept to very short amounts of time, in which Rufus & Fenton can cope with. This process can take a very long time, so in their new home, there must be someone around for the majority of the time to assist in the training.

Do I have any medical conditions?

History of

Rufus & Fenton both have historic medical conditions, namely being overweight and requiring a dental which has been completed at Woodgreen, that will require consideration before this pet is rehomed.

Our rehoming team will be able to give you further information if you apply to rehome him/her and you are a successful match.

We would also advise that any medical conditions, be that historic or ongoing, are discussed with your own vet prior to taking them home.

Who I can live with

Can I live with dogs?

No

Can I live with cats?

No

Can I live with small pets?

Yes, conditionally - Rufus & Fenton could potentially live with small animals, who are kept completely separate and are inaccessible to them.

Additional information

The pair would like to be the only dogs in their next home.

Both Rufus & Fenton can be reactive when seeing dogs on walks and may bark towards them.

Family and environment

What kind of family am I looking for?

Rufus & Fenton have lived with children previously and could live with children aged 8+.

What type of environment would suit me?

Rufus & Fenton will need to have their own secure private garden to help with their toilet training and to have a safe place to run and play off lead.

About Rufus & Fenton

Rufus & Fenton are a lovable duo looking for a forever family who can shower them with all the love and attention they deserve. These two are happiest when they’re close to their humans — especially if there’s a cosy lap or comfy sofa involved!

Fenton is the playful one, always ready for a game with his favourite toys, while Rufus prefers to spend his time snuggled up beside you, enjoying your company. They’re best friends and would love to find a home where they can stay together, bringing double the love and twice the joy.

Rufus and Fenton do come with some training needs, including home alone and toilet training.

Dachshunds are little bundles of energy. They’re fun, lovable and incredibly loyal. Learn more about the breed at Ask Woodgreen.
