More about Sam

Sam has over 14 years of experience under her belt of working with our feline friends at Woodgreen, and a wealth of knowledge on all things cats. She’s also equipped with a COAPE Diploma in Practical Animal Behaviour and Training. In her wide-ranging role, she’s there for many of our cats at every step of their journey to a loving home. From giving them hands-on care to offering advice to their humans, she’s had a hand in changing many cats’ lives

Most of Sam’s time is spent helping cat owners who are struggling with behavioural issues, while also supporting with any complex cases on site. When she’s not on cat duties, she also produces content for education and training purposes. Sam has an interest in why cats behave the way they do (like many of us). She enjoys teaching people that animals’ actions are directly linked to their environment and emotional state, and not out of spite like some might have you believe!

Testimonials

Over the years, she’s helped countless cat owners build happier, healthier relationships with their pets. Here’s what some of them had to say about her.

"Brilliant! The response time, the practical and sympathetic advice I received from Samantha was very comforting and I am able to take steps now with a local organisation. I am looking into rehoming. I was in a real state when I first spoke to Samantha, and she was calm and constructive, which is just what I needed."

"I spoke to the animal behaviourist about Oscar and it was super helpful that she remembered him and his personality so was able to tailor the advice to Oscar specifically. I followed the advice I was given when introducing Oscar to my dog and it’s worked a treat! Although the advice was mainly to carry on doing what I was doing, it put me at ease to know I was going it correctly. I plan to continue giving Oscar mentally stimulating activities so that he’s not bored."

"Samantha, the behaviourist I spoke to, was clear, helpful, and empathetic with a very difficult situation. After speaking to her, I knew which next steps I needed to take and I felt much better about everything. She seemed extremely knowledgeable which was a big comfort for me. Unfortunately, the cat we had adopted a week prior and had extreme hostility with our resident cat has since gone on to a new home where she is the only pet. While this was a disappointing outcome, we are glad that both cats are settled, safe, and happy, and that we didn't struggle for weeks or months trying to make something work that was unlikely to work out."
