Dog behaviour and training specialist
Wendy has worked wonders over her thirty years as a professional animal behaviourist.
Establishing and leading her own dog training programme for twenty of those years, alongside a choc-a-block profile of behavioural consultations, means Wendy has helped thousands of dogs and dog-owners achieve a happier, waggier way of being. Her holistic approach to animal training means that she takes all factors into careful consideration, to successfully change behaviour and ensure every dog has its day.
As a registered practitioner for the Animal Behaviour and Training Council (ABTC), member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT), and full member of the Canine and Feline Behaviour Association (CFBA), Wendy is certainly top dog when it comes to animal behaviour.
During her time as head trainer and behaviourist for The Company of Animals, she conducted behaviour consultations for the VIP pets of some super swish clientele. In this role she led chase workshops, one-to-one training, classes for animals with special needs, as well as puppy and dog training sessions. And her work isn’t confined to just indoor animals either! Her livestock workshops featured real-life herds of sheep and cattle, just another nor-moo-l day at the office!
Other career highlights include a doggy debut on live tv (promoting training products on a popular sales channel), providing at-home support for cancer and bio detection dogs, and (we think the best of the litter) kickstarting her career with five years at Woodgreen! We were thrilled when Wendy returned to us in 2017, with all these exciting tails to tell and expertise to apply.
In her day-to-day work, she makes behaviour consultation calls to help as many people as possible. She finds her job “tremendously rewarding”, knowing that she is helping pets and their people on a daily basis.
