Meet Wendy!

Wendy has worked wonders over her thirty years as a professional animal behaviourist.

More about Wendy

Establishing and leading her own dog training programme for twenty of those years, alongside a choc-a-block profile of behavioural consultations, means Wendy has helped thousands of dogs and dog-owners achieve a happier, waggier way of being. Her holistic approach to animal training means that she takes all factors into careful consideration, to successfully change behaviour and ensure every dog has its day.

As a registered practitioner for the Animal Behaviour and Training Council (ABTC), member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT), and full member of the Canine and Feline Behaviour Association (CFBA), Wendy is certainly top dog when it comes to animal behaviour.

During her time as head trainer and behaviourist for The Company of Animals, she conducted behaviour consultations for the VIP pets of some super swish clientele. In this role she led chase workshops, one-to-one training, classes for animals with special needs, as well as puppy and dog training sessions. And her work isn’t confined to just indoor animals either! Her livestock workshops featured real-life herds of sheep and cattle, just another nor-moo-l day at the office!

Other career highlights include a doggy debut on live tv (promoting training products on a popular sales channel), providing at-home support for cancer and bio detection dogs, and (we think the best of the litter) kickstarting her career with five years at Woodgreen! We were thrilled when Wendy returned to us in 2017, with all these exciting tails to tell and expertise to apply.

In her day-to-day work, she makes behaviour consultation calls to help as many people as possible. She finds her job “tremendously rewarding”, knowing that she is helping pets and their people on a daily basis.

Testimonials

The following testimonials reflect just a small part of the incredible impact she’s had; each one a wagging endorsement of her skills, compassion, and the difference she continues to make every single day.

"Wendy knew what she was talking about gave really good information and ideas would definitely recommend her to any one with dog behaviour problems. We ordered all food Wendy advised and other items. Every step Wendy has spoken to me about we plan to make those changes. I feel very confident helping my French bulldog to behave better. "

"Wendy is marvelous! The advice she has previously given us worked perfectly. Changed his food. Changed the access to areas of the house. Changed feeding. We are going to try to desensitize him to objects which look dangerous to him. And we are going try nutrition calm to help him feel less anxious."

"Was put in touch with someone very quickly, everyone I spoke to was lovely and the advice I received was incredibly helpful. Advice given regarding resource guarding, persistent barking, and picky eating. Was given so many suggestions and explanations for the behaviour which have really helped us managed the situation. In a recent follow up call I was suggested to consider a joint supplement which I will do. Wendy was incredible, she really helped me to understand the behaviour we were seeing and gave us excellent advice that has made a works of difference."
