Support a pet at Woodgreen today

If you’re a fan of The Dog House, here are six ways you can show your support and make a real difference to the lives of vulnerable pets

Channel 4’s The Dog House is filmed right here at Woodgreen and has captured the hearts of more than a million viewers each week. This heartwarming show follows the dedicated team here at Woodgreen as they work tirelessly to rehabilitate and rehome unlucky dogs in need. Based in Cambridgeshire, Woodgreen helps support over 8,000 dogs, cats, and small animals each year. We’ve also provided invaluable support to more than 67,000 pet owners, offering free advice and hands-on assistance.

With increasing pressure on Woodgreen’s services due to the cost of living crisis, and a 60% increase in stray pets coming through their doors, the charity needs your support more than ever to continue helping dogs such as some of the most recent canine stars of The Dog House including poor Tiddles the stray.

Stray Tiddles finds love on The Dog House

One of the recent stars of the show was Tiddles, a small dog rescued by a local warden and brought to Woodgreen for urgent care. When she arrived, Tiddles was in a sorry state – matted, exhausted, and scared. The compassionate team at Woodgreen worked their magic, not only improving her appearance but also rebuilding her trust in humans.

With the ongoing cost of living crisis, Woodgreen has seen a 60% increase in stray pets coming through their doors. This growing pressure on their services means the charity needs support more than ever to continue helping dogs like Tiddles. Here are six meaningful ways you can make a difference in the lives of vulnerable pets:

1. Shop with Woodgreen

Woodgreen has 23 charity shops throughout the East of England, that are stocked with new and pre-loved items including fashion, accessories, and furniture at bargain prices. If you prefer to shop online, the charity also has a dedicated Depop shop packed with unique and vintage finds – as well as an online shop for brand new gifts for both pets and people. Here you’ll find treat boxes, greeting cards, t-shirts, and virtual gifts for virtually any occasion.

2. Sponsor a pet

For as little as £6.50 a month, you can sponsor a cat, dog, or small pet. You’ll receive regular updates about your furry friend and be part of their journey to a new home.

3. Raise money through fundraising

Turn your passion for pets into pounds for Woodgreen! The charity receives no government or lottery funding and relies entirely on the generosity of people and businesses. Whether you’re looking to set up an individual or corporate fundraising event, it’s a fun and rewarding way of supporting Woodgreen’s work.

4. Volunteer in one of Woodgreen’s charity shops

Lend a hand in one of Woodgreen’s shops. It’s a rewarding way to gain skills, make friends, and help pets in need. Various roles are available to suit different interests and abilities.

5. Provide a temporary home for pets in need

Join Woodgreen’s community of fosterers by providing a temporary home for pets awaiting their forever families. It’s a flexible way to make a difference, with full support from the charity.
