Show loved ones you care whilst supporting pets in need

Sponge teamed up with Woodgreen last year to add a new product range to their mix – pet cake cards. These pet-themed cards are available for all occasions and come with either one or two slices of cake, to be delivered easily through the recipient’s letterbox. For every pet cake card sold, Sponge donates £1 to Woodgreen.

Woodgreen relies on the generosity of its supporters, and partners like Sponge, to help their work to rehabilitate and rehome nearly 3,500 dogs, cats and small animals each year, all from its centres in Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire. The charity also provides dedicated support to struggling pet owners through free advice, one-to-one behavioural programmes and even financial support to help cover the cost of pet care.

Whilst the charity’s shops in Thetford and Norwich have been closed for the best part of a year due to lockdown restrictions, the local community can still support a local business and a local charity, simply by sending delicious treats to their loved ones. This helps to raise much-needed funds for Woodgreen and pets in need.

Stacey Hamilton, Corporate Fundraising Manager at Woodgreen, said: “We can’t celebrate together at the moment – or even just catch up over a tea and a slice of cake at a cafe – but that doesn’t mean we can’t show people we care. We’re incredibly grateful to the team at Sponge for their support, and to the 560 people who have purchased a pet cake card already.”
