Woodgreen Pets Charity reopens shop in Royston to help pets and their people

Woodgreen Pets Charity has re-opened the doors to its renovated and rebranded charity shop at 15 High Street.

Staff and volunteers were joined by the Mayor of Royston, Councillor Mark Hughes, and the charity’s CEO, Royston resident Clive Byles, to celebrate the re-opening at 10am on Friday 1st April. The first customers enjoyed free cupcakes and copies of Finding A Forever Home, the book about the BAFTA-nominated television show ‘The Dog House’, which is filmed at Woodgreen’s centre in Cambridgeshire.

The shop will raise much-needed funds to enable the charity to continue helping pets and their people – providing emergency care to homeless pets, as well as supporting thousands of owners through free advice and dedicated support. This wouldn’t be possible without the generosity of the public who donate and purchase items, volunteer in store and fundraise for Woodgreen.

Jake Hornsbury, Head of Retail at Woodgreen, is delighted to welcome the local community back into the shop: “Thank you so much to everyone who has made our re-opening weekend such a success! We know many people have been looking forward to us re-opening, so please do come along and check out the fantastic range of clothing, books and bric-a-brac we have on sale.

“For anyone who has unwanted items at home, we have a free donation collection service to make it as easy as possible for people to support us. We are always looking for volunteers to join us too! If you would like to be part of a friendly team, gain experience in retail and make a real difference to pets and people in need, we’d love to hear from you.”
