Woodgreen Pets Charity is thrilled to announce that Linda Cantle, a long-serving member of the leadership team, has been appointed to the Association of Dogs and Cats Homes (ADCH) Board of Trustees. Linda brings more than 15 years of experience in the animal welfare sector and has witnessed first-hand the transformative power of sharing ideas and best practices between peers.
In her role at Woodgreen, Linda has spent many years spearheading the charity’s preventative services – including free behavioural advice, education and hands-on support for pet owners – that have been designed to keep pets in loving homes and break the cycle of relinquishment. These services are continually growing, with more than 5,000 pets supported in homes in the last year. Linda’s appointment as Trustee for the ADCH, which represents rescue charities throughout the British Isles, recognises the need to tackle the issue of pet homelessness in new and collaborative ways.
Linda states that she is committed to scaling up the collective impact of animal welfare organisations, championing evidence-based practice, and bringing together like-minded individuals who are committed to achieving tangible change. In her own words, Linda says: “I am passionate about developing innovative prevention and outreach initiatives which mean we can help more pets enjoy happier, healthier, more stimulating lives, and ensuring organisations feel supported to deliver animal welfare to the highest standards.”
As an ADCH assessor and member of the Standards and Welfare Committee, Linda has gained a deep appreciation for the unique challenges and opportunities facing different animal welfare organisations, as well as the thirst for progress and the joy of sharing successes. Linda feels a strong connection to ADCH’s vision and values and is honoured to contribute further through the role of Trustee.
According to the ADCH, Linda brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise from within the animal welfare sector, which will be invaluable as they continue to pursue their mission. Her dedication to improving welfare standards, and experience in providing support to others, will play an instrumental role in guiding their future strategy, particularly at a time when the sector faces unprecedented challenges.
Woodgreen congratulates Linda on her appointment to the ADCH Board of Trustees and is confident that her passion, expertise, and commitment to animal welfare will be invaluable in driving positive change for animals in need. Her appointment is a testament to her dedication and reflects positively on Woodgreen as a regional organisation that is leading the way in the animal welfare sector.
