Fostering gives pregnant mums and their kittens the best possible start in life.

Rabbits and guinea pigs love fresh hay combined with plants or herbs. For example, wild geraniums, roses, basil, coriander, lemon balm, mint, parsley and thyme.

For rats and mice, mix some of their daily food with some healthy treats. For example, wholegrain low sugar cereal, small pieces of strawberry, curly kale, broccoli, fresh or dried mealworms, cooked or raw pasta. Always break up raw pasta into small pieces for mice.

For hamsters, try some of their normal food with a small amount of healthy treats, like broccoli, curly kale or strawberries.
If you have a Syrian hamster, cut along the length of the cardboard tube before stuffing the forage inside. This will help to prevent them from getting stuck if the tube is a bit too narrow for them to get through.

Gerbils will love fresh hay combined with a small amount of healthy treats. For example, small pieces of curly kale, broccoli, spinach, peas, fresh or dried mealworms, pumpkin seeds, dried herbs, cooked or raw pasta.
Degus enjoy fresh hay mixed with some dried herbs and flowers, such as hibiscus, rose, dandelion or mallow root.
