Support and Health

How much training will I need?

Needs settling in

Can I be left alone?

Yes

Dougal has been left for a full working day which was worked on gradually.

He should be able to manage this again after a settling in period and having his training refreshed, however, he was previously left home alone with another dog, so if he doesn’t have a companion again, he may struggle being left for extended periods.

Do I have any medical conditions?

None

This pet has a clean bill of health and can be fully insured after rehoming.

Who I can live with

Can I live with dogs?

Yes

Can I live with cats?

No

Can I live with small pets?

No

Additional information

Dougal can be selective when it comes to his dog friends. In his previous home he would bark at some dogs when on a walk, on-site he has had a little bark but after a sniff, has shared space with other dogs nicely.

He has lived with another sighthound previously and adored her so he could potentially live with another female dog again, pending on on-site dog mix.

Family and environment

What kind of family am I looking for?

Dougal can live with children aged 8+.

He’s a very affectionate boy and loves nothing more than being with his people, sharing the sofa, getting all the snuggles.

What type of environment would suit me?

Dougal will need a secure, private garden with 6ft fencing in his new home.

About Dougal

If you’re looking for the perfect mix of couch potato and playful pal, look no further than Dougal! This gentle-hearted Lurcher is as sweet as they come.

Dougal’s absolute favourite thing in the world? Snuggling up on the sofa with his humans. Whether it’s for a quiet cuddle or a cosy snooze, he’s happiest when he’s right by your side, soaking up all the love. But don’t be fooled – this boy has a fun side too! He adores a good zoom around the garden or a secure field, stretching those long legs in a joyful burst of energy.

He’s also a big fan of fetch- and yes, he brings the ball back! Dougal is a gentle soul who would thrive in a calm home where he can enjoy the best of both worlds: fun outdoor play and lazy afternoons curled up indoors. He’ll make a loyal, loving companion and is just waiting for the right person to share his heart (and his favourite spot on the sofa) with.

Goofy, elegant and strong contenders for the best snoozers, there are many sides to the lovely Lurcher! Learn more about the breed at Ask Woodgreen.
