Last year, we welcomed five-year-old Dinky to Woodgreen when her owner couldn’t look after her anymore. She was a sensitive soul who didn’t like being alone – she had severe separation anxiety.

What makes a pet truly happy? For many, especially our smaller furry friends, it’s companionship.

Dumped on a doorstep as a puppy during the first lockdown of 2020, Mickey had a rough start in life.

When the owner of two ‘female’ rabbits – Ronnie and Roxie – discovered a litter of four babies, it came as quite a shock!

Suzie is a gentle, ten-year-old German Shepherd cross who’s been with us since October 2020. This gorgeous girl was brought to Woodgreen after her owner sadly became unwell and was no longer able to look after her.

Meet Autumn, a gorgeous four-year-old Saluki living her best life. Sadly though, this wasn’t always the case.

When Mabel’s owner had to move house, they sadly couldn’t take their feline friend with them. After calling Woodgreen for help, Mabel was collected and brought into our care the next day.

At Woodgreen, we take in thousands of homeless pets into our centre every year. As well as dogs and cats, we give safe shelter to many small animals too.

Sometimes, a bit of space can do the world of good. For Chica and Logan, whose friendship had started to crumble, time apart saved them from being separated forever.

At Woodgreen, we love a happy ending. So we were delighted when Misty, a much-loved cat at our centre, and previous Sponsorship pet, found a loving home.

Inseparable husky siblings Kali and Ollie were used to a lot of attention and fuss, so when their owners had a baby, they became very unsettled.

Sonia, a one-year-old lurcher, came to Woodgreen from a local vet in Cambridgeshire, after she was found abandoned in a car park suffering from a terrible leg injury.
