Ten-week-old kitten stray kitten Kiara arrived at Woodgreen weak, hungry and with some shocking injuries to her tail and ears.
Little Kiara was brought to Woodgreen after being found wandering the streets alone. When our Veterinary team checked her over, they were shocked to find wounds where her ears and tail should have been. The source of her injuries remains a mystery but, thankfully, the wounds had already started to scab which meant Kiara was on the mend.
Kiara also needed a course of medication to treat an infestation of fleas and worms so, after her initial health check, our team kept a close eye on her recovery.
Kiara surprised us all with her confidence and we found that despite her rocky start in life, this sweet kitten was very sociable and craved constant affection from everyone around her.
With her health back in check, Kiara decided to soak up some one on one attention at foster carer Jenny’s house. Foster placements are a great way for kittens to build social skills and prepare for life in their new homes. Young Kiara enjoyed chasing people’s fingers so, a short stay with Jenny was the perfect time to learn how much fun cat toys could be instead!
We knew it wouldn’t be long before this perfect little kitten caught the attention of a new owner. And, sure enough, less than two weeks later, Kiara found her fresh start and settled in to life with Amy and her family straight away.
Kiara’s new owner, Amy, told us: “Despite how humans have failed her, she still absolutely loves a fuss and could play all day long. She loves being around us and is just so adorable. The kids adore her and she’s getting plenty of play time.”
