When Ted the Golden Retriever was struggling with a painful skin condition, owner Deanne had exhausted all options and turned to Woodgreen desperate for help...
When Ted the Golden Retriever started to suffer from allergies, owner Deanne did everything she could to help her beloved pet.
Ted was dealing with painful, itchy skin and open wounds that couldn’t heal but, several expensive trips to the vet later, Deanne was still no closer to a solution.
Deanne had used savings to try and treat Ted but with no cure, she was desperate for help.
Deanne wanted Ted to get the care he needed so she reached out to Woodgreen to discuss relinquishing Ted into our care. Although she was heartbroken by the idea of losing Ted, she believed it was worth it to get him the help he needed.
But, when Deanne spoke to Community outreach officer, Serena it was clear how loved Ted was so Serena did all she could to keep the pair together.
After a visit to a Woodgreen vet, Ted was prescribed some steroids and allergen-friendly dog food. Serena also suggested regular medicated baths to soothe Ted’s skin and suggested that Deanne treat her home with an allergy prevention spray to reduce any environmental irritants that might be contributing to Ted’s condition.
A few months after making these changes, we were relieved to hear that Ted was finally on the mend. Ted’s skin had cleared up, the painful sores had healed and this pup was feeling much happier.
Thanks to Serena’s determination, Deanne was feeling confident in her ability to care for Ted and, not only was Ted feeling better but he could also stay in the home he loved!
Deanne couldn’t praise Serena enough, saying, “Serena was amazing from start to finish” and we couldn’t be happier to see this pair thriving together!
