These kittens were found in the most unexpected place

When these tiny kittens were found hiding in a warehouse, we knew we needed to act fast!

At a busy warehouse near Woodgreen, a morning’s work was quickly derailed when a tiny black kitten darted in front of a forklift and was found hiding with his three siblings.

Knowing that a warehouse was no place for four vulnerable kittens, the workers acted quickly to create a temporary pen to keep the kittens in one place and then called us in to help.

A vet wearing blue gloves gently holds a small black and white kitten with wide eyes and tiny white whiskers.

Our Pet Support team quickly arranged to collect the kittens and found that despite their tiny size, they were unphased and exploring their new pen with confidence!

At just a few weeks old, our vets found that the kittens were all healthy but but their tiny mews indicated they were very hungry. Without a mum to nurture them, these kittens were now reliant on us and they lapped up their first meal of formula milk very eagerly.

Once the team were confident that the kittens were healthy, they could move on to the fun part – naming them! We decided to call this sibling set Alvin, Simon, Theodore, and Jeanette, thanks to their resemblance to the famous chipmunks.

The next step for the kittens was a stay with one of our expert foster carers. Fosterers provide kittens with round-the-clock care, plenty of attention and a cosy environment to grow (in size and confidence) until they’re ready to find a new home.

Once the kittens settled into their foster home, their unique personalities began to shine! Alvin quickly emerged as the ringleader, a mischievous troublemaker who was always the first to explore and play. Simon, on the other hand, was much gentler. He adored cuddling with the foster carer and was the smallest of the litter.

Help kittens like Theodore, Alvin, Simon and Jeanette find a new home by adopting a cat or fostering a cat today.
