At Woodgreen, our work goes far beyond the care we provide for homeless pets at our centre in Cambridgeshire.

Supporting pets and people with foodbanks

Our Community Outreach team support hundreds of pet owners every year who are struggling to afford to feed their pets. We’re proud to have partnerships with several foodbanks including The Trussell Trust and other community-run foodbanks across Cambridgeshire and Bedford.

Together for pets

We support over 30 foodbanks each month with pet food packages. These are usually cat or dog food, as well as small pet food on request. The packages are intended to last three to five days, but we also aim to support owners with a longer-term plan, depending on their needs. Each bag contains a referral leaflet which signposts to our community outreach services.

There are more pet owners reaching out to us for support than ever before. For some people, the only choice has been to give up their pets. But through our outreach work and ongoing partnerships with organisations like The Trussell Trust, we’re doing everything we can to support struggling pet owners – keeping pets and people together.

“We’re committed to helping pet owners to look after their pet in the best possible way. If you’re struggling to afford the costs of caring for your pet, talk to us first. Woodgreen is here for you.”
