How much training will I need?

Can I be left alone?

Alfie struggled when left home alone in his previous home.

We suggest that any time spent home alone is built up slowly, at a pace Alfie is comfortable with, once he has settled into his new home environment.

Do I have any medical conditions?

Alfie has historic medical conditions, namely sore skin (Resolved) Glucose in the his urine (Detected on one occasion, this is not currently an issue), he will also require a dental (This will be completed by Woodgreen vets at our centre, and at our cost) these conditions will require consideration before this pet is rehomed. Our rehoming team will be able to give you further information if you apply to rehome them and you are a successful match.  

We would also advise that any medical conditions, be that historic or ongoing, are discussed with your own vet prior to taking them home. 

Can I live with dogs?

Additional information

Alfie likes other dogs and enjoys playing with them. However, he can sometimes struggle to understand when dogs don’t want to play or are feeling worried by him, so Alfie needs a little more guidance from his people in these instances.

Alfie hasn’t lived with another dog before. From what we have seen onsite and based on his history of enjoying spending time playing with dogs in his previous home, we feel he has the potential to live with another dog who has a similar personality and love for play as Alfie does.

What kind of family am I looking for?

Alfie’s previous owner described him as her little shadow and as a sociable boy who enjoys a fuss and gets excited when meeting people.

Alfie has never met or lived with children before. We feel that, if Alfie were to live with children in his new home, he would be better suited to older children aged 8 years and over, who can understand that he is an older gentleman who can sometimes feel a little worried about being handled.

What type of environment would suit me?

It is essential that Alfie has access to a secure, private garden in his new home.
