Could you star in The Dog House?
If you're looking for a match, filming for the next series starts this Spring.
Amadeus Meow-Zart has historic medical concerns, namely a tongue ulcer and a bite wound which have both resolved, that will require consideration before this pet is rehomed. Our rehoming team will be able to give you further information if you apply to rehome this pet and you are a successful match. We would also advise that any medical concern, be that historic or ongoing, is discussed with your own vet prior to any book out appointment.
Amadeus Meow-Zart prefers to be the only star of the show and would be best suited to a home without other pets, and ideally in an area with few neighbouring cats.
He is also an avid hunter so cannot be homed with small pets.
Amadeus is looking for an adult only or home with older teenagers who will read his body language. He will benefit from a patient and calm approach in the home. Generally, once settled, he is very affectionate and loves company.
He enjoys being outside, and ideally would be best with a cat flap so he can come and go as he pleases. He would do best in an area without too many neighbourhood cats as he has been known to fight in the past. When outdoors, he is an enthusiastic hunter, so his future family should expect the occasional “gift” brought home — his own unique encore.
Since arriving at Woodgreen, Amadeus Meow-Zart has shown himself to be a very loving boy who enjoys company and gentle fuss. He will call out to us when he knows his audience is nearby and is happy to join us on a lap. With a calm, patient approach, he is steadily finding his tempo and becoming more at ease. He can even be found tinkering on the piano in his foster home and assisting with some yoga – his downward cat is said to be very good.
A true soloist, Amadeus Meow-Zart enjoys being close to his people and prefers his favourite seat to be right on top of his human — or beside them during a quiet evening performance in front of the television. He is an extremely affectionate and companionable cat, (complete with happy dribbles when he’s truly content) but in the past he has occasionally struck a wrong note by nipping when something unsettled him. Though the exact triggers aren’t clear, he does usually give clear body language before. With a calm, gentle approach, his affectionate and loyal nature shines through.
If you’re looking for a companion who’s equal parts loving, distinguished, and a little bit cheeky, Amadeus is ready to claim the warmest spot in your home and your heart as he is a cat that just loves to be loved!
Amadeus Meow-Zart is currently living in a foster home and will be allocated a temporary unit at the centre on the day of book-out. Most cats find unfamiliar environments quite stressful and this can affect their behaviour in the cattery, meaning that you might not be able to observe what the cat’s temperament is typically like in a familiar setting. If you would like to meet this cat prior to rehoming, as a minimum you will be able to see the cat, but this may be the extent of the interaction depending on the cat’s response to the new environment.
