Additional information

Like other small pets, they should be kept safely away from other animals in the home. As prey animals, they may feel threatened by the presence of other species such as cats and dogs.

Family and environment

What kind of family am I looking for?

Guinea pigs can make lovely pets for all the family; they are loveable and charming little animals. Some confident piggies can rule the roost with their wheeking for veggies and demands of a cheeky little head rub from the get-go. Being prey animals they  get spooked quite easily, and it may take time for some guinea pigs to feel safe in their new home. Like any animal, treating them with kindness and patience, you will provide them with a safe environment for them to gain confidence.

What type of environment would suit me?

The minimum accommodation for a pair of guinea pigs consists of a 5 x 2ft sheltered space, such as a hutch, Wendy house, shed or indoor accommodation. Along with a 6 x 4ft wooden framed run with a removeable/hinged lid, or equivalent indoor free-range space (if no access to garden) with a minimum of 18inches high.

WINTER CARE

With an adequate winter care plan, they could be placed in an outdoor set up during the warmer months. During the winter or anytime the temperature drops below 15’C, guineas pigs can become hyperthermic if no proper measures have been put in place. We will require to see your winter care when rehoming to any outdoor set up.

About Ant and Dec

Ant and Dec are a delightful pair of young males who are looking for their forever home!

These bonded brothers were born just before arriving into our care and have grown into confident, curious and affectionate youngsters. They are full of character and enjoy exploring their environment, making the most of any enrichment provided. Both boys are particularly adventurous and love climbing on platforms and hides to investigate their surroundings.

They are a well bonded pair who take comfort in each other’s company and can often be found exploring side by side before settling down together for a well-earned rest.

Ant and Dec are seeking a home that can provide them with plenty of enrichment and stimulation. As they continue to grown and develop, regular gentle handling and interaction will help them build their confidence further.

If you can provide this cheeky duo with the home they are looking for, please do register your interest.
