Could you star in The Dog House?
If you're looking for a match, filming for the next series starts this Spring.
Bertie was comfortable being left home alone for a number of hours in his previous home, he is a lazy boy and will generally just sleep. He will need some time to settle in before having his training refreshed but he should be able to do this again.
Bertie has current medical conditions, namely skin fold dermatitis (requiring daily wiping), pyoderma, an ear infection (which he is currently receiving treatment for), and, has Brachycephalic Airway Obstruction Syndrome (BOAS) Grade 2 that will require consideration before this pet is rehomed. Our rehoming team will be able to give you further information if you apply to rehome them and you are a successful match.
We would also advise that any medical conditions, be that historic or ongoing, are discussed with your own vet prior to taking them home.
Due to the nature of the medical condition, a vet call with one of our onsite vets will be required before the pet goes home.
Bertie mainly ignores other dogs when he’s out on a walk, he may have a quick sniff before continuing on his way but prefers human company.
He can have some calm walking buddies in his new home that have a similar personality to him and aren’t looking for interaction.
Bertie can live with teenagers, 13+.
He loves being with his people but can be sensitive with some handling.
He’s a typical Bulldog and can get a bit excited at times which we’re helping him work on.
Bertie would like a home with a secure, private garden where he can enjoy sunbathing in the warmer weather.
Bertie is a larger-than-life character with a real cartoon charm about him! He’s especially fond of plonking himself on your feet while demanding a fuss, and he gets adorably giddy when you call him over for some well-deserved attention. Bertie is a sensitive boy at times and finds going to busy indoor places overwhelming, so he is looking for some nice quiet walking routes to enjoy.
He’s a big fan of his toys and absolutely loves his food, so he’ll need owners who understand and respect his space around his favourite resources. In true breed fashion, Bertie is a champion lounger and takes his relaxation very seriously — but when the weather allows it, he’s more than happy to head out for a good walk.
If you’re looking for a fun, affectionate companion with plenty of personality (and don’t mind occasionally losing feeling in your feet!), Bertie could be the perfect match.
