Additional information

Bertie could live with a cat-friendly dog with gradual introductions, as long as they are calm and not too hyperactive.

He can’t live with other cats as it is suspected that he fights.

He also can’t live with small pets as he is an avid hunter.

Family and environment

What kind of family am I looking for?

Bertie would be happy to live with adults and children 7 and over – children need to be calm and understanding that he can be rather nervous at first and it takes quite a bit of time for him to build trust with children. Once settled he’s very sweet and likes company and fuss.

What type of environment would suit me?

Bertie needs both indoor and outdoor access. He is cat flap trained but not used to high levels of traffic so it would be better for him to live in a low traffic area. He is an avid hunter and brings various gifts home. Best to live in an area with infrequent visits from other cats into the garden/immediate area – doesn’t need to be rural or low cat-population but Bertie wouldn’t appreciate cats coming into his space often. Bertie would really appreciate having a long cat tunnel in his new home!

About Bertie

Bertie came into us due to a change in circumstances. Initially he is very nervous and shy, wanting to hide away and not explore much. However, once settling in and gaining some confidence, he is accepting of fuss and enjoys company. Bertie is looking for a family who are patient with his shyness and happy with hunting as Bertie is rather skilled in that department and is known to bring home gifts.
