Support and Health

How much training will I need?

Needs settling in

Can I be left alone?

Potentially, once settled

Betty has been left home alone for a few hours once she’d settled in and had her training refreshed, she should be able to do this again in her new home.

Do I have any medical conditions?

Existing conditions

Betty has an existing condition, namely a luxating patella, she has had FHNE (hip) surgery, which she is currently recovering from, that will require consideration before she is rehomed. Our rehoming team will be able to give you further information if you apply to rehome them and you are a successful match.

We would also advise that any medical conditions, be that historic or ongoing, are discussed with your own vet prior to taking them home.

Due to the nature of the medical condition, a vet call with one of our onsite vets will be required before the pet goes home.

Who I can live with

Can I live with dogs?

No

Can I live with cats?

Yes

Can I live with small pets?

Yes, conditionally - Securely housed small pets

Additional information

Betty doesn’t get much from other dogs, preferring to be with her people. If a calm dog approaches her she is happy to swap sniffs but she is worried by larger and energetic dogs.

Betty can walk with dogs of a similar size who, like her, are happy to just exist near each other rather than interacting.

Family and environment

What kind of family am I looking for?

Betty can live with children aged 8+.

She has lived with children previously and was happy to get fuss but will walk away when she’s had enough.

With her people she is very affectionate and loves to play.

What type of environment would suit me?

Betty doesn’t need a garden in her new home as long as she gets plenty of toileting opportunities.

About Betty

Betty is a spirited little Yorkshire Terrier cross with a big personality and an even bigger heart.

She’s currently recovering from FHNE (hip) surgery, so she’s taking things slow with restricted exercise, weekly physio, and the occasional limpy walk—but don’t let that fool you, her Terrier spark is still very much alive!

Betty absolutely adores her people and gets wonderfully excited when they return, greeting them with excited spins. She’s even learned how to ask to be picked up!

Betty is looking for a loving home that can support her recovery while embracing her affectionate, quirky nature. If you’re after a loyal little companion who will keep your lap warm and your heart full, Betty might just be your perfect match.

Yorkshire Terriers are clever little chatterboxes with big hearts for their humans. Learn more about the breed at Ask Woodgreen.
