Support and Health

How much training will I need?

Needs settling in

Can I be left alone?

Yes

Blu has been left for a few hours in her history but she was always left in the company of another dog.

Now Blu is on her own she will need her home alone time building up at a pace she’s comfortable with, but she has the potential to do a few hours again.

Do I have any medical conditions?

None

Blu has historic medical conditions, namely a mass that has been removed, a Corneal (eye) ulcer and an ear infection (resolved with treatment), she has a current medical condition, namely BOAS Grade 1, that will require consideration before this pet is rehomed. Our rehoming team will be able to give you further information if you apply to rehome them and you are a successful match.

We would also advise that any medical conditions, be that historic or ongoing, are discussed with your own vet prior to taking them home.

Who I can live with

Can I live with dogs?

No

Can I live with cats?

Yes, conditionally - A dog savvy, bold cat pending introductions

Can I live with small pets?

Yes, conditionally - Securely housed small pets that can be kept separately if needed

Additional information

Blu isn’t overly interested in other dogs, if she sees them on a walk she will stop to look at them but is quite happy to carry on her way.

She has the potential to have some walking buddies who like her, are there to enjoy the walk.

Family and environment

What kind of family am I looking for?

Blu can live with children aged 8+.

She’s a friendly and affectionate girl, especially once she’s got to know you and loves nothing more than giving kisses and trying to sit on your lap.

She enjoys playing with her toys and a game of tug will often end in zoomies!

What type of environment would suit me?

It isn’t essential that Blu has her own garden in her new home provided she gets plenty of toileting opportunities. New owners will need to be mindful of the summer months when taking her for toilet walks to ensure that she doesn’t overheat.

About Blu

Blu is a sweet, loving lady with a fun and playful personality. She absolutely loves spending time with her people and is happiest when she gets to be part of the action.

Blu enjoys going on walks and exploring the world alongside her favourite humans. When she’s at home, she loves nothing more than a good game of tuggy! She can get very excited and will often break into adorable zoomies, showing off her playful side.

With her loving nature, cheerful personality and zest for life, Blu is sure to bring lots of fun and affection to her new family. She’s looking for a home where she can enjoy plenty of walks, playtime and quality time with her people.

Things to note

Breeds like this, French Bulldogs, have extreme conformation, meaning that their body features are exaggerated. This can include having shorter legs or a flat face and shorter nose (brachycephalic).

Why these features can be a problem?

These characteristics can negatively affect their health and welfare. For example, dogs with shorter legs may be more likely to experience serious back issues and animals with flattened faces may find it difficult to breathe and struggle in the heat. Whilst not every dog will suffer these problems, it’s important to stop and think before adopting or buying one.

Due to these health issues regularly affecting certain breeds, you may face higher insurance and veterinary costs even if your pet is unaffected.
