Pet advice from Woodgreen
From behavioural issues to dietary needs, we’ve got you covered.
This pet has current medical concerns, namely he has had a Femoral head and neck excision (FHNE) due to a pelvic fracture, that will require consideration before this pet is rehomed. Our rehoming team will be able to give you further information if you apply to rehome this pet and you are a successful match. We would also advise that any medical concern, be that historic or ongoing, is discussed with your own vet prior to any book out appointment.
Bruno wouldn’t be able to live with cats as he gets into fights. We feel a dog would be quite stressful for him so he’d rather not live with one. Small animals are fine if securely housed.
Bruno would like to live with adults and older children 13 and over as he is terrified of them most of the time – any children need to be calm and gentle with him, read his body language and very much let things be on his terms. He is affectionate once settled in but also gets overstimulated (mostly directed at hands). He makes it very clear when he’s feeling wound up and has had enough. He loves to play!
Bruno would like to be rehomed in a low traffic area as well as a low cat populated area – this is due to fighting and not being used to busy roads. He will need both indoor and outdoor access but isn’t cat flap trained.
Bruno came to us with a pelvic injury. Despite having this injury and starting his healing journey he has been the sweetest guy and enjoys playing around and having company on his terms! Bruno loves cheek rubs especially (although in short bursts and we stop once he’s had enough) and his favourite treat is a paste one. He can be a picky eater and will sometimes swap and change what he likes. Bruno is looking for a loving family that can give him plenty of entertainment but also give him space. He must initiate interactions and his family needs to read his body language for when he’s had enough and recognise his boundaries if feeling overstimulated. It can take a bit of time for him to gain confidence but once he does he is super sweet! Bruno is a bit fearful of children and doesn’t get along with cats. Could you provide him with the patient home he needs after his successful recovery?
