Support and Health

How much training will I need?

Needs ongoing support

Can I be left alone?

Yes

Buddy has previously been settled when left home alone and managed up to 4 hours.

Although, as an older man he does need regular opportunity to go to the toilet.

Do I have any medical conditions?

Existing conditions

Buddy has current medical conditions, namely a skin allergy, urinary incontinence and cataracts. Buddy also has historic medical conditions, namely dental work, and a mass removal.  These will require consideration before this pet is rehomed. Our rehoming team will be able to give you further information if you apply to rehome them and you are a successful match.

We would also advise that any medical conditions, be that historic or ongoing, are discussed with your own vet prior to taking them home.

Due to the nature of the medical condition, a vet call with one of our onsite vets will be required before the pet goes home.

Who I can live with

Can I live with dogs?

No

Can I live with cats?

Yes, conditionally - A bold, dog savvy cat following correct introductions.

Can I live with small pets?

Yes, conditionally - Securely house and kept separately.

Additional information

Buddy is more interested in his people!

He doesn’t seek out interaction with other dogs when out and about, generally ignoring them.

Buddy could walk with other dogs, but likely wouldn’t get much out of it.

Family and environment

What kind of family am I looking for?

Buddy can be a bit nervous of loud and high pitched noises. Any children in the home would need to be aged 11+, who would understand not to shout around him.

Buddy does love having all the attention from his people!

If you stop fussing him he will likely make a noise under his breath until you decide to continue. Especially if it’s belly rubs!

What type of environment would suit me?

Buddy would need a secure private garden, to allow him to be able to go to the toilet easily.

About Buddy

Buddy is the definition of a gentle soul. This sweet senior gentleman is happiest when he’s simply by your side, enjoying the company of his favourite people. Whether you’re relaxing on the sofa, pottering around the house, or enjoying a peaceful stroll, Buddy just wants to be wherever you are.

As an older boy, Buddy has a calm and loving nature. He can be a little sensitive, especially around loud noises, so he’d thrive in a quieter home where he can feel safe and secure.

If you want to win Buddy’s heart, belly rubs are the way to do it, they’re his absolute favourite! He also still has a playful side and loves chasing his beloved squeaky ball, proving you’re never too old for a bit of fun.

Buddy is looking for a family who will cherish him for the wonderful dog he is and give him all the love, comfort, and cuddles he deserves in his golden years. In return, he’ll be the most loyal companion, filling your home with quiet affection and unconditional love.

Staffies might be small but they’ve got big hearts. If you like affectionate dogs, they could be the breed for you! Learn more about the breed at Ask Woodgreen.
