Meet Hazel

Say hello to Hazel, a lovely 7-year-old girl with a big heart and plenty of love to give who is ready to find her forever home!

She’s a little on the curvy side but has only just started her weight loss journey. At 7 years old, Hazel is past the puppy chaos and ready to enjoy the finer things in life: cosy beds, gentle strolls, tasty treats and lots of fuss.

Hazel is looking for a family of only adults who will love her just the way she is and help her enjoy a happy, healthy lifestyle with gentle exercise and a balanced diet. She has love to give and deserves a home where she can settle in, feel safe and be truly cherished.

If you’re looking for a loyal companion and a new best friend, Hazel could be the girl for you!

Support and Health

How much training will I need?

Needs some support

Can I be left alone?

Potentially, once settled

As Hazel came to us as a stray we do not know how she would feel being left home alone. Any home alone time should be built up gradually when she has settled in her new home.

Do I have any medical conditions?

Existing conditions

Hazel has a few medical conditions that potential adopters should be aware of. She has arthritis affecting her spine and has also experienced an episode of diarrhoea. In addition, Hazel has a fatty lump and a fractured tooth, which will require dental treatment with us shortly.

Our rehoming team will be happy to provide further information about Hazel’s medical history and ongoing needs if you apply to adopt her and are considered a suitable match.

We would also advise that any medical conditions, be that historic or ongoing, are discussed with your own vet prior to taking them home.

Due to the nature of Hazel’s medical needs, a telephone consultation with one of our onsite vets will also be required before she can go home.

Who I can live with

Can I live with dogs?

No

Can I live with cats?

Yes, conditionally - Hazel could potentially live with a calm dog savvy cat.

Can I live with small pets?

Yes, conditionally - Hazel could live with securely housed small pets

Additional information

Hazel would be happiest as the only dog in her new home, as she can be a little cautious and unsure around other dogs. She would prefer to enjoy her walks without the expectation of interacting with other dogs, so a home where her space and boundaries can be respected would be ideal.

Family and environment

What kind of family am I looking for?

As Hazel can be a little worried when being handled, particularly when first getting to know someone, she would be best suited to an adult-only home.

What type of environment would suit me?

Hazel will need to have her own private garden in her new home. this will give Hazel a safe space where she can roam around and relax, especially in the summer.
