Meet Leia!
Leia is a 6 month old puppy with a big personality and lots of love to give. She’s a friendly, sociable girl who loves making new friends and enjoys lots of affection. Leia is a smart girl and is keen to learn, so is looking for someone who can help her develop her skills and confidence as she grows.
Like any young puppy, Leia is still learning about the world and will benefit from patient, positive training, gentle guidance, and plenty of opportunities to learn, play, explore, and discover new things.
Leia has begun home alone training in her foster home, although she currently has another dog for company. This training will need to be carefully continued in her new home, gradually building up the amount of time she is left alone once she has settled into her new environment.
Leia has a current medical conditions, namely a Intrapelvic bladder, (her bladder is sitting partly within her pelvic area), this will require consideration before this pet is rehomed. Due to the nature of the medical condition, a vet call with one of our onsite vets will be required before Leia goes home.
Our rehoming team will be able to give you further information if you apply to rehome them and you are a successful match.
We would also advise that any medical conditions, be that historic or ongoing, are discussed with your own vet prior to taking her home.
Leia is currently in foster care with another dog, and they share the home really nicely. She also loves to run and play with them in a nearby field.
She is very friendly and likes to say hello to other dogs, happily going in for a sniff. She can be excitable but is very polite and is also happy to do her own thing.
Leia has never lived with cats, but as she is still a young pup, with the correct and careful introductions, she has the potential to live with a cat. This would be provided the cat is happy living with a large, bouncy puppy.
Leia absolutely loves her people! She is a very sociable girl who enjoys meeting new people and is always friendly.
She has lived with children, but as a young dog, she can sometimes get a little overexcited and may jump up. With this in mind, if Leia were to live with children in her new home, we would recommend a household with children aged 5 years and over.
Leia will need her new home to have a secure, private garden. As she is still young, this will give her a safe space to practise her training. As a mix of two high-energy breeds, she will also benefit from having the space to run around, play and enjoy some excited zoomies!
