Support and Health

How much training will I need?

Needs some support

Can I be left alone?

Potentially, once settled

Saffy came to us as a stray so we don’t know how she is when left home alone.

Any home alone time will need to be built up from scratch once she has settled in.

Do I have any medical conditions?

History of

Saffy has a historic medical condition, namely removal of dew claws, that will require consideration before this pet is rehomed. Our rehoming team will be able to give you further information if you apply to rehome them and you are a successful match.

We would also advise that any medical conditions, be that historic or ongoing, are discussed with your own vet prior to taking them home.

Who I can live with

Can I live with dogs?

No

Can I live with cats?

No

Can I live with small pets?

No

Additional information

Saffy can find sharing space with other dogs too much pressure to socialise. She would potentially be able to walk with friendly dogs who would allow her space to build her confidence.

Saffy is polite when meeting other dogs and is becoming more playful when interacting with them outside. But can become avoidant if she has negative interactions.

Family and environment

What kind of family am I looking for?

If Saffy’s new home had children they would need to be aged 8 years plus. Who would be able to greet Saffy calmy and handle her gently while she builds her confidence in a new home.

Saffy can be shy initially but is starting to warm up to people quickly, with gentle fusses and treats.

What type of environment would suit me?

Saffy will need a secure private garden to help her with toilet training and give her space to run around and let off that lurcher energy.

About Saffy

Saffy is a beautiful lurcher with gorgeous, light sandy fur that is silky soft. She is a sweet, gentle soul with so much love to give.

Saffy loves nothing more than snoozing in a soft, cosy bed and is slowly learning all about being a much-loved pet. She is discovering toys and play at her own pace, and it’s lovely to see her curiosity and confidence grow.

With patience, kindness and a little time, Saffy will be a wonderfully rewarding companion. She has so much love to offer and is looking for a special forever home where she can continue to blossom.

Goofy, elegant and strong contenders for the best snoozers, there are many sides to the lovely Lurcher! Learn more about the breed at Ask Woodgreen.
