Meet Sonia
Sonia is a sweet, gentle girl who may be a little shy at first, but once she gets to know you, she’ll love you with her whole heart.
She’s still a spring chicken with plenty of enthusiasm for life and gets excited about her daily activities. Sonia can be a little worried by sudden noises and movements, but with patience, kindness and gentle encouragement, we’re helping her grow in confidence every day.
Sonia enjoys meeting other dogs and, if possible, would love a home with a calm canine companion who can be her friend and playmate whenever she’s in the mood.
As she can feel anxious around moving cars, Sonia would be happiest living in a peaceful, quiet area with little traffic, where she can feel safe and settle into her new life at her own pace.
Sonia has so much love to give to someone willing to give her the time and reassurance she needs. Could you be the one to help this lovely girl blossom?

How much training will I need?
Can I be left alone?
Sonia came to us as a stray, so unfortunately, we don’t have any history of being left home alone. However, we have seen her settle well in indoor spaces, particularly after a nice walk or a play with another dog.
Sonia is looking for a home where her owners are around for most of the time initially, so that she can gradually build up to being left alone at a pace she feels comfortable with.
Do I have any medical conditions?
Sonia has 2 historic medical conditions, namely Diarrhoea (Resolved) and being underweight (She is currently on a weight gain diet plan). Our rehoming team will be able to give you further information if you apply to rehome her and you are a successful match.
We would also advise that any medical conditions, be that historic or ongoing, are discussed with your own vet prior to taking them home.

Additional information
When meeting dogs, Sonia has been described as being happy to say a polite, gentle hello, with a wiggly body and wagging tail.
Sonia would benefit from living with a well-socialised, calm and confident canine who she can learn from and gain confidence around, although this isn’t essential.
Family and environment
What kind of family am I looking for?
Sonia is initially shy but once she gets to know you, she loves her human friends. She can get giddy and excited with her favourite people and nuzzle her face in for affection and loves a gentle fuss.
As Sonia is a sensitive soul and is looking to live with slightly older children aged 11 years+ who will be calmer around her.
What type of environment would suit me?
Sonia can find the world a little worrying, so she is looking for a home in a quieter area where she can feel safe and settled. She will also need a private, secure garden of her own, where she can relax, enjoy some time outdoors and have the space to let loose with the occasional little zoomie!
