Pet advice from Woodgreen
From behavioural issues to dietary needs, we’ve got you covered.
Meet this wonderfully sweet pair of girls, Izzy and Carla! They came into our care after their previous family was moving and, sadly, could no longer keep them. They’re now looking for a loving home with an existing group of rats, where they can join their new friends and make a minimum trio.
Izzy and Carla settled in very quickly, and it didn’t take long for their lovely, sweet natures to shine through. Both girls are quick to come to the front of their cage when you approach. Carla will eagerly climb onto your arms, ready for some attention and time exploring in the free-range area. Izzy won’t be far behind, patiently waiting for you to scoop her up!
Izzy’s favourite pastime is digging. She absolutely loves her deep bedding, and you’ll often spot her carefully kicking and gathering specific pieces to create her very own little den. Carla, meanwhile, is more than happy to supervise from the comfort of her cosy hammock! These two have a wonderful bond and love doing just about everything together.
If you have a single or group of rats who would love to welcome Izzy and Carla into their family, please get in touch via our website. We’d love to help these lovely girls find their perfect home!
Izzy has historic medical concerns, namely a mammary lump, that will require consideration before this pet is rehomed. She has previously had one lump surgically removed, and has made a full recovery.
Our rehoming team will be able to give you further information if you apply to rehome this pet and you are a successful match.
We would also advise that any medical concern, be that historic or ongoing, is discussed with your own vet prior to any book out appointment.
Rats are wonderful companions, but they’re often misunderstood as low-maintenance pets. The truth is, they’re not!
Here are a few things to think about before you apply:
Not sure if rats are the right pet for you? Our guide to choosing the right small pet species is a great place to start.
If you use our onsite mixing service, we ask for a donation of your choosing once the mix is successful, on top of the rehoming fee.
Once you’ve submitted your application, we aim to get back to you within two days – though it may be a little longer during busy periods.
From there, timelines can vary depending on your setup approval. If you’re using our onsite mixing service, the number of bonding sessions to find the right match will also be a factor.
It’s worth starting your application as soon as you’re ready to begin the process.
Ready to get started? We always start with our pets’ individual needs, which is why we need to find out a bit more about you first.
