Meet Severus! A lonely boy searching for his forever bunny friend and home.

This guy maybe a little shy at first but he has a big heart with lots of love to give. He enjoys being out and about exploring but feels safe having lots of hides nearby to retreat too. He likes to have attention from people on his terms, so the best way to interact with him is to sit down quietly and offer his favourite treats. With this, he does build trust with you and enjoys a little head rub too.

We are unsure if Severus has lived with children in the past, but given he can be easily startled, he would need to be in a quiet home with older children able to understand him. Severus can be housed either indoor or outdoors and he is yet to show us if he enjoys digging. He does enjoy home made enrichment such as cardboard boxes to sit on top off or sit inside. He waits for his morning pellets to be popped inside his puzzle feeder and he is ready to complete his morning mission!

Companion required

This rabbit needs a companion.

As a social species, rabbits need to live with other rabbits to thrive. They feel safe and happy in pairs or groups and find comfort in companionship. Rabbits can be housed in neutered same-sex or mixed sex-pairs, or groups.

Accommodation requirements

Rabbits are most active at dawn and dusk, and in the wild they have plenty of space to move freely at any hour. Pet rabbits need room to hop at speed, stretch to their full height and length, and dig, forage and graze whenever they like.

A pair of small to medium-sized rabbits need 24-hour access to a floor space of at least 3m x 2m, with a height of at least 1m. This is roughly the size of two king-size mattresses placed together, and about as tall as a door handle.

The image below gives you an idea of how much space a pair of rabbits need.

Large outdoor rabbit hutch with green wire mesh, covered in hay. Inside are boxes, bowls, a tunnel, water bottles, and various blankets and towels. Trees and a wooden fence are visible in the background.

Aviary with hutch inside, dig tray, platforms, hiding spaces, a tunnel and lots of hay.
