Itchy Inka

Woodgreen's Outreach team received a call from a concerned dog owner who needed support with her four-legged friend, Inka.

Inka had been itching for several months and things weren’t getting any better. She had been scratching so much that it was causing her quite a bit of harm, resulting in sore patches all over her body. She needed veterinary treatment but after a change in her owner’s lifestyle meant she wasn’t able to afford the vet bill, we stepped in to help.

We were really pleased we could support Inka and her owner by arranging a consultation with a vet and some preventative treatment in case she had a flea infestation, although we couldn’t see any fleas in her coat. A fish-based diet was recommended and she was given some medicated shampoo to help repair her broken skin. Inka’s owner was determined to get her best friend on the road to recovery. We kept in regular contact with Inka’s owner along the way and we’re delighted that after eight weeks, she was given the all clear from her vet!

It’s been a very busy year for our team, they’ve been on the road with Dennis, our community outreach vehicle, establishing new partnerships with food banks and helping pets in need. So, who are the people behind our Outreach team and what are their recent highlights? Meet the team and read all about their role.
