Bugsy is a beautiful boy full of curiosity, just waiting to meet his perfect bunny friend.
Bugsy loves a head rub in the morning and is a happy little helper when it comes to cleaning his unit. He is a confident boy, who really does enjoy spending time with anyone who dares look at his beautiful face! He is going to make a really lovely companion for his new family. He is the kindest soul who loves human interaction and we know he would love somebunny who he can snuggle, forage and explore with.
Being a rex rabbit, Bugsy has had trauma to his hocks from his previous living conditions, but since being with us and having access to lots of soft flooring they have healed really nicely.
A family that can provide Bugsy with not only love, but some extra soft bedding, which can be achieved from giving vet bed along with a thick layer of hay all over the floor, will give him a very happy life that he really does deserve.
This rabbit needs a companion.
A social species, rabbits need to live with other rabbits to thrive.They feel safe and happy in pairs or groups and find comfort in companionship. Rabbits can be housed in neutered same-sex or mixed sex-pairs, or groups.
Rabbits are most active at dawn and dusk, and in the wild they have plenty of space to move freely at any hour. Pet rabbits need room to hop at speed, stretch to their full height and length, and dig, forage and graze whenever they like.
A pair of small to medium-sized rabbits need 24-hour access to a floor space of at least 3m x 2m, with a height of at least 1m. This is roughly the size of two king-size mattresses placed together, and about as tall as a door handle.

Bugsy has a history of sore hocks- Rex rabbits are prone to this due to their different coat. Bugsy’s previous living conditions did also contribute towards this. Now he is living on softer bedding his hocks are no longer sore but this is something we do monitor closely.
Rabbits are wonderful companions, but they’re often misunderstood as low-maintenance pets. The truth is, they’re not!

If you use our onsite mixing service, we ask for a donation of your choice on top of the adoption fee, if the mix is successful.
If you’d like to handle the introductions yourself, our behaviour and training specialists can provide free expert guidance throughout the whole process. From choosing the right mixing method to knowing behaviours to watch for, and how to move forward if things go well – they’ll be with you every step of the way.

If you’d prefer to leave it to us, our specialists will handle the introductions at our centre. Once your setup has been approved, we’ll add you to our waiting list and be in touch when we have a suitable match. On the day, you’ll need to bring your rabbit/s to us, and we’ll carry out a quick health check before getting started. You’ll be kept updated throughout the process. We may need more than one session to find the right match. We’ll ask that your rabbit is vaccinated and neutered and we’ll need to see proof of this from your vet.

Once you’ve submitted your application, we aim to get back to you within two working days. This may be a little longer during busy periods.
From there, timelines can vary depending on your setup approval. If you’re using our onsite mixing service, the number of bonding sessions to find the right match will also be a factor.
